Sonali Bhati/Jalore:- The famous Shakkar Petha of Jalore has been providing the same taste to its customers for 150 years. This is the only shop in Jalore which is famous for its sweets for 150 years. Out of which the most popular sweet is Shakkar Ke Petha, which has become the first choice of the local people here.
Shop owner Shubham Aggarwal told that he is the fifth generation of this shop. His grandfather, great grandfather and father have been running this shop continuously for five generations. About 25 to 30 kg of pethas are made every day and are sold at the rate of Rs 440 per kg. The taste of their Petha has spread such magic across the state that orders come from big cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Surat and Ahmedabad.
This is how these pethas are made
Confectioner Govind Ram told that he uses cow’s milk to make pethas. Fika Mawa is prepared by boiling cow’s milk. That pale mawa is sprinkled and mixed. Then the mawa mixture is taken out in a tray and the mawa is frozen. After it cools down, it is cut and the syrupy round is offered to each petha in sugar syrup. Then petha is prepared by garnishing them.
This sugar petha is best in taste
The taste of these sugar pethas is such that they dissolve as soon as they are placed in the mouth. The customers present there told that they have been taking petha from here for about 10-12 years. There is no adulteration of any kind in these. These pethas are made with great precision and cleanliness. If you eat these sugar pethas, the taste does not go away from your tongue for many days. Even if sugar pethas are stored for 6 to 7 days, their taste remains intact. Yes, that is a unique and unique recipe. It has not been shared with anyone till date. This is the reason why no one in the entire state has been able to make petha like it.
